‘Wireless speaker for home’, what does that even mean? It means it has absolutely no cords. Yes, you can charge it ofcourse but it doesn’t rely on a power cable.
Now our personal favorite if we could only go with one best wireless speakers 2021, it would be the JBL Link 10. We like this one because it incorporates Google assistant that means that you’re getting a pretty good Bluetooth speaker but on top of that you get a smart speaker.

Now the other one you may consider on top of the JBL Link 10 or in place of the JBL Link 10 is UE Blast. Now the UE Blast originally retailed for over $200 which to us was too expensive. We’ve now seen it discounted to like 115-120 bucks so it is a little cheaper than that JBL link 10 which retails for $150. You can check the current pricing on the links given in the table.
JBL Link 10
Talking about JBL link 10, the advantages we see for this speaker over a lot of other speakers. The first one is audio quality. There are a ton of Bluetooth speakers out there and a lot of them sound really good but the JBL link 10 also sounds really good.
We don’t think you’re making that many compromises in terms of audio quality with the speaker. Now they do make that JBL link 20 which does get louder sounds a little bit better.
The link 10 is also water-resistant. Like we mentioned before it has Google assistant built-in which allows you to use those voice features so you can ask it about the weather, about your favorite sports team is doing, current news events, you can have it play music for you from a bunch of different sources i.e Spotify, Google Play, Pandora, YouTube Music, TuneIn, iHeartRADIO. With the link 10 you can just say ‘hey Google’ and you can say ‘play music from Spotify’ or ‘play country music’ or if you want to play a radio station you can say something like ‘play 92.5 on iHeart Radio’.
We know there are a lot of wireless speakers out there that don’t have the Google assistant or Amazon Alexa built-in but we think if it’s still reasonably priced, that’s the way to go. Why not get the Bluetooth speaker and then also those wireless capabilities with the voice search?
UE Blast
Now that UE Blast, it does have some advantages that make it really competitive with the JBL link 10. The first thing is, it has 360 degrees of sound whereas the JBL link 10 just has forward-facing speakers. We still think that the link 10 has the better audio quality but at least you get a little bit more immersive sound with UE blast. On top of that, it does have an optional charging cradle which makes it easier for grab-and-go.
So with these speakers, obviously, the best thing about them is that you can use them at home, play music over Wi-Fi and then you can detach them or take them away from their charging cable if you want and then you can take them on the go to be your standard Bluetooth speaker.
But with UE blast it has a cradle that means you can just set it right on top and it starts charging so its super easy. With the Link 10, you do have to detach it power-chord micro USB so a little bit easier with the UE blast.
Also, that blast does have way better battery life we were getting about 4-5 hours on a single charge with the Link 10 which isn’t that great honestly. The UE blast was about 12 hours so you’re getting more than double the battery life with that blast. And we think to a lot of people that is gonna make a difference.
We think Google assistant was a little bit more accurate on Link 10 then Amazon Alexa is on UE blast that also factored into our decision but the biggest thing for the link 10 over the blast is that it has Chromecast built-in which means you can pair it with other speakers around your home or your office.
We ourselves have a bunch of different Google speakers including a JBL link speaker and it fits right into that echo system. With the UE blast and the Mega blast, they don’t pair with any other speakers. But they do work with more smart products because Amazon Alexa works with more smart products in general and you can shop via Amazon which in our opinion is a lot better than the shopping features that you’ll get with a lot of Google assistant based speakers.
Other Best Budget Bluetooth Speakers
Above mentioned are our favorite smart speakers. We wouldn’t fall to if you got one or the other but we personally would rather have the JBL link 10 even though it is now a little bit more expensive.
But if you just wanted a standard Bluetooth speaker or a standard wireless Bluetooth speaker, probably our favorite out there is the Bose Soundlink Revolve. It has great battery life, 360 degrees of sound, really incredible sound, better than those last two speakers and it looks really nice.
It too has a charging cradle that you can get with it and if we were going to pick one Bluetooth speaker that wasn’t smart and we still kind of watching our wallet we would probably go with that Bose Soundlink Revolve, even though it is like 200 bucks at retail.
Speaking of the price, if you’re on a seriously tight budget, there are a heck of a lot of speakers to choose from you can go with the UE Roll 2, UE Roll, you can get the JBL Flip 3 or the JBL Flip 4. The pairs might look the same but they are definitely different in specs i.e Sound, battery life etc. These speakers are around 70-100 bucks.
You can even go all the way down to 30-40 dollars and one of our favorites in that price range is Anker Soundcore 2. Now it doesn’t have the best audio quality out there but it’s like 30-40 bucks and we see great discounts on it all the time.
It has decent audio quality but not the best out there, a smaller speaker and it’s more affordable speaker with the big buttons on the top of it. It’s water-resistant, has a great battery around 20 hours on a single charge. If you’re looking to spend 30 to 40 bucks, we would recommend Soundcore 2.
